Due to unexpected condition and emergency period caused by Merapi volcano disaster (end of October-November) in Yogyakarta, editorial board of Scientific Journal of Semesta Teknika, announces that the deadline, call for paper for journal issue Vol.13, No.2, with special topic of “engineering and applied sciences/technologies in energy, and renewable and sustainable energy development”, is extended until (not later than) 15 January 2011.

The goal of this issue in scientific journal of Semesta Teknika is to publish the most recent results in the development of system, applied technology and engineering of sustainable and renewable energy.

Researchers and practitioners working in this area are expected to take this opportunity to discuss and express their views on the current trends, challenges, and state of the art solutions addressing various issues in this area.

He received Engineer’s degree in Electronics with cum laude (the Best Student Award) from Institute of Technology National Yogyakarta in 1995 and BSc. in Computer System and Control with distinction from Padjadjaran University Bandung in 2000. He holds Master in Management from University of Muhammadiyah Prof. Dr. Hamka Jakarta. He then received his PhD. in Industrial Computing (Machine Vision) from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia in 2006. He is currently a senior lecturer and researcher at Department of Industrial Computing, Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (www.ukm.my). He was with Institute of Electronics, National Chiao Tung University Taiwan in 2006 and Department of Industrial Computing, Universiti Teknikal Malaysia Melaka (UTeM) in 2007-2008. He received the Excellent Author Award from UTeM for his publications and research contributions in 2008. Before joining with the university, he spent more than six years in industries such as Bumi Kaya Steel, Samsung Electronics, and The Coca-Cola Company. He was a Technical Manager at Coca-Cola Bottling Indonesia in the period of 1997-2002.

He was awarded an Erasmus Mundus Visiting Scholar by the European Commission to undertake research and teaching in European Union Master’s Course in Mechatronic and Micro-mechatronic Systems (EU4M). He is an author and co-author for more than 50 scientific papers in International Journals and Conferences.
